Good news for TV viewers. Nike is on the case when it comes to the problem of sweaty NFL lineman wearing practically see-through pants.

The Swoosh was embarrassed when TV cameras and Yahoo Sports’ eagle-eyed ThePostGame blog caught Detroit Lions offensive lineman  Jeff Backus practically mooning TV audiences in Week 1.

Nike’s in the first year of five-year deal as the NFL’s official outfitter. The Swoosh is justifiably proud of its new unis, which are lighter and sleeker than the league’s previous football duds from Reebok.

Nike spokesman Brian Strong sent me an e-mail saying Backus’ wardrobe malfunction “seems to be an isolated issue.”

Said Strong: “We’re working closely with the Lions to solve this issue for the player.”

On behalf of the TV viewers of the USA, we thank you Nike.
