Kobe Bryant, Pizza Hut is waiting on line one now that you’ve informed the sports world your historic 81-point night in 2006 was fueled by a pregame meal of pepperoni pizza.

The Los Angeles Lakers star just wrote a column in which he remembered eating pepperoni pizza before pouring in 81 points against the Toronto Raptors at Staples Center, according to Dan Devine of Yahoo! Sports’ Ball Don’t Lie blog.

We asked Pizza Hut rep Doug Terfehr Friday if the national pizza chain would be interested in hiring Bryant as an endorser. First, Terfehr wanted to know the brand the Black Mamba ate. Then the toppings. Finally, he said, sure, Pizza Hut would be interested in taking a meeting with Bryant and his marketing reps.

“We have many loyal fans of our pizza and we believe pizza has probably helped fuel a lot of great performances. If Kobe was interested in partnering with us, especially if it meant he could have more nights like the 81-point performance in Toronto, we’d be open to exploring that,” said Terfehr.

Bryant’s explosion against the Raptors on Jan. 22, 2006 was the second-highest single game point total in NBA history, behind the 100 points scored by Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors against the New York Knicks in 1962. If you want to relive the big night of Kobe, who just turned 34, here’s video via Devine:
